Synopsis

The story of 2001: A Space Odyssey is divided into three parts.

The film begins in the primeval times, when monkeys master on earth. A group of monkeys is a rectangular monolith and this gives them the spark of human intelligence. This group teaches the tools to deal with monkeys, but they also learn and war manslaughter know. The second part takes place in 1999. On Monday, the same monolith discovered in the Tycho crater. It is behind the monolith from the near the planet Jupiter. The third part of the story is about astronaut David Bowman and his fellow space travelers aboard the spaceship Discovery One. Their mission is the mysterious monolith on a moon of Jupiter (in the book, this is Saturn) study. Since they never because the on-board computer, HAL 9000, endowed with artificial intelligence, believes the crew to murder to save the mission. HAL, a person with a deep warm voice that you can recommend or that you just can have a conversation. HAL kills on his own initiative in incubators “frozen” scientists in their long journey to Jupiter.

Bowman knows HAL 9000 off, and the strength of the monolith is transcendental to him. This metamorphosis in the film was then been defined as a visual LSD trip. After this trip Bowman is right in a galaxy far beyond our galaxy. He seems a nice hotel room to be made up from watching television images in order to ease him up. In a bed, he sees his future self. Bowman goes to sleep. During his sleep, his spirit and memories from his body. It is reconstructed as a new essence possessed with an eternal life that lives and travels between the stars: a “Star Child” (star child).

The child star returns to our solar system and overlooks the Earth.
