The album is the fifth album by Swedish pop group ABBA. The recordings began in May 1977, shortly after its world tour through Europe and Australia and was completed in November. In December, the album was finally released.

After the group had returned in March 1977 by her first major tour, she dedicated in May to record their fifth album. Started with The Name of the Game. In June, it was included as a single title Eagle, only in July with One Man, One Woman, I’ma puppet, and Thank You for the Music three titles were on the line. In July, the next track Take a Chance on Me, I Wonder (Departure) and Hole in Your Soul have been put on tape. While it was published in October, the first single, was dedicated to the last song of the sessions, Move On.
