Waterloo is the name of the second album by Swedish pop group ABBA. The recording started in September 1973 and lasted until February 1974. The eponymous title song Waterloo ABBA won the sixth April 1974 in Brighton the Euro Vision Song Contest 1974th.

After the group returned from their summer vacation in 1973, devoted themselves Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus of the composition of new songs. The first song that was recorded in these sessions was, Dance (While The Music Still Goes On), which was very inspired by the photographs of Phil Spector. This was followed in October, the recording of My Mama Said, Honey Honey, What About Livingstone and Suzy-Hang-Around. In November, only the King Kong song recorded that was later considered by many fans as “the silliest song the band has ever produced”. In December, the last song Sitting In The Palmtree followed, Hasta Mañana, Watch Out, Gonna Sing You My Love song and the eponymous song for the album Waterloo, some of which still needed a revision, so the recordings could be ended only in February.

The album was on 4 March 1974, first published in Sweden. The safe was next to the new band name ABBA the previous name Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Frida indicated in parentheses. In Sweden, the album quickly rose to # 1 on the charts. On the same day also the single Waterloo was released, which later turned out to be extremely successful. In April, the single Honey, Honey was extracted, which was not as successful as the previous single.

The Swedish version of the record also contained a Swedish version of Waterloo. For publication in the many other countries, a remix of Ring Ring was taken, for example, in the United States and England replaced the Swedish version.
