The Empire Strikes First is a Bad Religion album released in 2004.
Musically inspired by the classic sound of the band, the lyrics are more “politicized” than ever because of the particular moment when the album was conceived during the war in Iraq. Significant Sinister Rouge, Los Angeles Is Burning, Let Them Eat War, Beyond Electric Dreams. There is no lack references to George Orwell in The Empire Strikes First and Boot Stamping on a Human Face Forever. The title clearly alludes to The Empire Strikes Back (The Empire Strikes Back) the classic trilogy of Star Wars.
