Bon Jovi is the first album the band Bon Jovi, launched on 21 January 1984. During a concert opening for the band Scandal, the group drew the attention of record executive Derek Shulman, who signed with the PolyGram. The album reached the gold in the U.S. (over 500 thousand copies sold) and was also launched in the UK. The band opened for ZZ Top at Madison Square Garden (before the album is released), and for Scorpions and Kiss in Europe, and concerts in Japan.
