Viva la vida or Death and All His Friends is an album by Coldplay released June 12 2008 in the United Kingdom, June 13 Switzerland, June 16 in France and June 17 in Canada.

Their first single “Viva la vida is number 1 in U.S. charts, more often occupied by songs from rap / R & B as alternative rock. The cover and the name of the disc have each been inspired by Liberty Leading the People of the french painter Eugène Delacroix (and this despite the fact that Chris Martin has admitted in several interviews that the group has become aware of the international fame of this table only after the album out and read reviews that stressed the uniqueness of the artwork) and the table title Viva La Vida Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
