The Time of the Oath is the eighth album released in 1996 by the German power metal band Helloween.

It is a semi-thematic album that tells the story of the prophecies of Nostradamus. This album is a band in full development, with a broader sound, not as set in power metal, passing by some hard rock as in A Million To One, Wake Up The Mountain and Anything My Mama Do not Like, by progressive metal in Mission Motherland and The Time of The Oath.

Classic themes are present in the Helloween We Burn, Steel Tormentor, Kings Will Be Kings, and Power Before the War in 2006 this album was released with a bonus CD. The title of the CD to the end of another famous book of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: Faust, Volume II. The voice sings the words of the devil, who revindica the soul of Dr. Faust, as the coral (Coral Orchestra’s “Johann Sebastian Bach,” maestro Axel Bergstedt) sing the “Dies illa” the old liturgy of the Catholic requiem, impeding the work of devil.
