Bleach is the first Nirvana album, released in 1989 with Sub Pop. Initially, the album has sold 6,000 copies, but following the huge success of Nevermind two years later, fans have looked at this first opus, enabling them to discover the roots of the group, more raw. Bleach sales now amount to more than 4 million copies around the world.

The album was entitled Too Many Humans, literally “too human”, but the group was officially named Bleach in February 1989, when Kurt Cobain saw a poster campaign against AIDS along the road which conducted in San Francisco. The poster said “Bleach your works, which can be translated as” Washing your gear “, the anti-drug addicts therefore advised to clean their needles before use.
